The church in America is in trouble.It’s membership is declining and only a fraction of those in the church are actively part of its ministries and activities.Why is this?Why are less than 30% of the members of St. Peter doing 100% of the ministry while a full 28% do not even contribute a single cent (much less any time or energy) to the purpose of the church?Part of the problem is that we have forgotten that the church is not a social club or a collection of programs or a no-strings-attached self-help plan.Too many of us GO to church and not enough of us spend time BEING the church.This study is a call to wrestle with who we are and what we are called to be and do as the church of Jesus Christ.
